General Motors, through its Chevrolet brand, officially decided to pause the sales of the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV over reported software issues since its launch earlier this year, News12 Bronx reports.
Chevy temporarily halts Blazer EV sales to fix the software
Chevrolet has just started to accept order requests for the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV in early September. However, it has already temporarily suspended sales in just less than four months due to glaring issues in its software.
Nonetheless, Chevy assured interested customers and investors that the issue was non-safety-related “nor related to Ultium or Google Built-In.” It also confirmed that the software issue only affected a limited number of Chevy Blazer EVs.
“We are aware that a limited number of Blazer EV owners have experienced several software quality issues. Customer satisfaction is our priority and as such, we will take a brief pause on new deliveries.”

What exactly is the issue?
TechCrunch reported GM’s statement that 2024 Chevy Blazer EV owners encountered issues with its screens and charging at DC fast chargers, which confirms previous journalists’ reviews about the electric SUV.
The automaker is now actively working to fix the said issues involving the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV’s infotainment glitches and DC fast charging problems.
Chevy reportedly said that owners must bring their units to an authorized dealership for a software update as soon as they come up with a solution.
Pricing
GM originally announced that the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV will have a base price of around $45,000. However, it canceled the entry-level 1LT trim and replaced it with the 2LT FWD.
The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV RS AWD was the first trim to hit the market with a base price of $60,215. The 2LT AWD followed at t $56,715. Both trims enable an EPA-rated range of up to 279 miles.
The temporary sales suspension is just another piece of bad news for Chevy, which recently announced the disqualification of the popular Blazer EV and Cadillac Lyriq from the $7,500 tax credit in the US.
