General Motors introduced the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq as its second model year for the BEV crossover. The automaker implemented numerous modifications and updates on the vehicle after the initial 2023 model year. One of them is the launch of the new 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech trim level, as reported by GM Authority.
GM’s equipment groups for the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq
The publication, citing its reliable sources, claimed that the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech would be directed to the 1SA equipment group as the lineup’s new base trim. The new BEV will be listed below both the Luxury trim level, which was first released with the initial 2023 model year, and the Sport trim level, which was released for the 2024 model year.
On the other hand, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury will be fitted with the 1SC, 1SD, and 1SE equipment groups. Recall that the Cadillac Lyriq RWD debuted for the 2023 model year in 1SE Luxury trim, while the slightly less potent 2023 Cadillac Lyriq AWD came with the 1SD equipment group.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport will utilize the 1SF, 1SJ, and 1SK equipment groups.
It is also worth noting that the Cadillac Lyriq’s Tech, Luxury, and Sport trim levels will all be offered in the US with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech comes with fewer features
The Driver Assist Package will be an extra option on GM’s upcoming 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech trim level, with package features coming as standard on Luxury and Sport trim levels.
For reference, the following features are part of the Driver Assist Package, which has the RPO code Y66 assigned to it (the corresponding RPO codes are in parentheses):
2024 Cadillac Lyriq | Driver Assist Package |
Tech trim level (Optional) Luxury (Standard) Sport (Standard) | -Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG) -HD Surround Vision camera (UXP) -Rear Pedestrian Alert (UKK) -Side Bicyclist Alert (UOW) -Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist (UKZ) -Outside heated, power adjustable, power-folding mirrors with driver-side auto-dimming, integrated turn signal indicators, and puddle lamps (DXR) -Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking (CTB) Digital Key (BOY) |
Notably, the 2024 model year adds two new features: Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking (RPO code CTB) and Digital Key (BOY).
The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury and 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport also come with a number of features that are not included in the new base Tech trim. These consist of the following:
2024 Cadillac Lyriq | Features |
Tech (Not available) Luxury (Standard) Sport (Standard) | -Multi-color interior ambient lighting (C70) -Auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (DD8) -Rear Camera Mirror (DRZ) (standard on 1SE and 1SJ only) -Power tilt and telescoping steering column (N38) -Heated steering wheel (KI3) -Adaptive Headlamp System (UVG) -Illuminating door handles (HD7) -Slimline LED headlights with choreography (TGE) Automatic leveling headlamp control system (TR7) -Cornering lamps (T4Y) -Lower rear illuminated spoiler -LED choreography-capable taillamps (TAU) -Front intermittent Rainsense wipers (CE1) |
Furthermore, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq will have manual tilt and telescoping steering columns (RPO code N37) as opposed to power tilt and telescoping steering columns (RPO code N38). The report also noted that the model would feature LED taillamps (RPO code TAB) instead of LED taillamps with choreographic capabilities (RPO code TAU). Additionally, a brand-new feature for the 2024 model year is the Adaptive Headlamp System (RPO code UVG).
Apart from those, the interior of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech will be Noir with two-tone upper bolster accents in true aluminum trim.
The all-electric crossover is powered by GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium drive motors, which are both mounted on the GM BEV3 platform. Currently, GM is producing the BEV at its Tennessee manufacturing facility.
Pricing
As for the pricing, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq has a base price of approximately $60,000. Notably, the price dropped compared to the 2023 base model’s starting price of $62,990.

Interestingly, the introduction of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq’s base tech trim level seems to be GM’s response to the significant price cuts implemented by Tesla and Ford. Furthermore, the automaker also needs to reduce the BEV crossover’s price to less than $55,000 to make it qualify for the US tax credits under the IRA, given that the new regulations do not consider it an SUV.
