South Korean luxury auto brand Genesis is on track to finally produce its first full-size electric SUV in late 2025, according to The Korean Car Blog.
The new Genesis electric SUV will reportedly challenge the likes of the Cadillac Escalade and Range Rover.
Design
The Hyundai-owned brand already teased the new Genesis electric SUV after the Neolun concept debuted in late March 2024.
Genesis asserted that the SUV sports “innovation that exceeds conventional standards.” Simply put, the new model will help the brand advance in the competition.
“It’s the epitome of timeless design and sophisticated craftsmanship.”

It also has a “reductive design,” which allows for a simple yet elegant appearance. It eliminated the common use of unnecessary lines or details, improving the SUV’s contemporary and minimalistic design.
It has extra coach doors without B-pillars, enabling the innovative design to flow smoothly from the body to the roof.
In addition, the electric SUV’s design allows for a very spacious interior. It also has cutting-edge sound architecture, offering a concert hall-like immersive audio experience.
Production plans
As per the report, Genesis may finally unveil the production model of its upcoming electric SUV sooner than expected.
Genesis will reportedly kick off the production of the new full-size electric SUV in December 2025. It will arrive as the Genesis GV90.
Genesis is highly optimistic that the GV90 electric SUV will significantly boost its sales in the US market, considering American customers’ love for SUVs.
The luxury automaker expects to hit an annual production output of 21,000 units for the new GV90, 68,000 for the GV80, 40,000 for the GV70, and 51,000 for the G80.
Hyundai’s next-gen “eM” platform integration
Genesis GV90 is set to become the first model to use the next-gen “eM” platform developed by parent company Hyundai.
Notably, Hyundai contends that this new architecture will lead to at least 20% in savings for next-gen electric vehicle models compared to the current lineup, which includes the award-winning IONIQ 5.
The upcoming Genesis SUV is just part of the South Korean legacy automaker’s wider effort to advance as a top-three leading electric automaker by 2030.
Hyundai set a target of selling a total of 2 million EVs worldwide by the same period. In order to achieve this, it plans to launch 13 new EV models using the next-gen architecture.
