The Electrified GV70 was recently unveiled by Genesis at a special media event in Los Angeles ahead of its public debut at the upcoming LA Auto Show from November 18–27, according to InsideEVs.
The South Korean automaker will offer three battery-electric vehicles, including the GV60 and the Electrified G80. It is also worth noting that the Electrified GV70 will be the first Genesis model produced outside of South Korea and the first Genesis model ever manufactured in the United States.
Expected production and delivery date
The Montgomery manufacturing facility in Alabama anticipates starting production in December 2022. Given the expected production date, client deliveries may begin in the early months of 2023.
In South Korea, the Genesis Electrified GV70 has already begun to be produced and sold. In fact, approximately 3,000 vehicles have already been built.
The E-GMP platform is not the foundation of the Electrified GV70, although it may make use of some of its parts. As for the power source, it will have a 77.4 kWh battery. Notably, the capacity is identical to the Genesis GV60 or Hyundai Ioniq 5. On a single charge, it should travel about 400 kilometers (249 miles).
Price and Specs
The price and specifications are yet unknown as Genesis has not provided any information. Nevertheless, according to the automaker, the vehicle will have “a spacious interior and refined performance with a host of technologies designed exclusively for electric vehicles.”
