Hyundai-owned electric vehicle brand Genesis introduced new innovative features for its electric crossover GV60 last week, such as facial recognition technology.
GV60 now supports keyless entry
The South Korean automaker noted that the GV60 now has an advanced keyless entry system named Face Connect.
Remarkably, this biometric technology enables GV60 owners to access their EVs using their faces alone, eliminating the need for a physical key or smartphone.
In addition to unlocking the GV60, Face Connect will also load the user’s chosen driving position. The technology uses a near-infrared (NIR) camera in the door pillar and can save up to three drivers simultaneously.
It is also worth noting that the Face Connect system is under the brand’s Digital Key 2.0 configuration, which also includes fingerprint authentication.
Furthermore, the GV60 also offers Plug & Charge feature, which enables owners to employ in-car payment. The electric car is also standardly equipped with Ergomotion and Relaxation front seats, enhancing ride comfort and ownership experience.
According to the press release, these features prove the brand and the model’s advantage in connected mobility.
“Genesis is committed to offering the very best car ownership experience and these new features represent our desire to continuously enhance our all-electric model range. Customers will benefit from the latest connectivity and convenience options, as well as enjoy even more levels of comfort and personalisation.
Introducing world-first Face Connect technology demonstrates our passion to lead innovation as we continue our electrification journey. From 2025, all-new Genesis cars will be pure electric as part of the brand’s vision to become carbon net zero by 2035.”
