Chinese automaker Geely Auto will reportedly launch its new mid-to-high-end NEV brand as the first model on February 23, as per a Tweet from Chinese auto enthusiast Lei Xing邢磊 (@leixing77).
Chinese media platform National Business Daily (@NBDPress) also stated that the automaker officially named the upcoming brand “Geely Galaxy.”

Geely plans to launch the Geely Galaxy (吉利银河) brand in a special event on February 23 at the Asian Games venue in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.
Attractively, Geely wrote the following line in its launch poster:
“Galaxy, the starry sky that everyone looks up to.”

The Chinese automaker recently previewed the brand’s first EV offering. Interestingly, the posted images revealed that the EV will have an unfathomably advanced smart ecology and a remarkably low wind resistance coefficient.
Furthermore, it appears that the first Geely Galaxy model will be a sedan.
It is worth noting that Geely’s launch of the new brand comes after its rival BYD debuted the Yangwang brand. Interestingly, Yangwang directly translates to “look up,” which was easily observed by auto enthusiasts.
“It looks like BYD can only “Yang Wang” (gaze up) at the Geely Galaxy…”

As for the pricing, Geely Galaxy’s EV products will probably cost from RMB 200,000 to 500,000, given that it targets the mid-to-high-end segment.
The brand will aid the company to achieve its goal of selling 1.65 million units, including 600,000 NEVs, this year. It would not be surprising if Geely actually reaches the set target, considering its 2022 sales record of 1.43 million vehicles.
