Chinese automaker Geely has finally introduced the first electric sedan model of its new Galaxy sub-brand E8 in its Hangzhou headquarters on Friday.
Geely Galaxy New Energy announced the significant development on Weibo, emphasizing the model’s affordability with a base price of 175,800 yuan ($24,600). It is a crucial part of the company’s efforts to seek to compete in the country’s highly competitive electric vehicle industry.
Exterior design
As mentioned, the Galaxy E8 marks the first electric sedan in the sub-brand’s product portfolio. However, it is already the third model offering of Geely’s Galaxy in the world’s largest auto market.
The Galaxy E8 features a design language similar to the Galaxy Light concept car, with thin headlights, a long bonnet line, and a low beltline.
It also sports an elegant roofline, aerodynamic wheel covers, and retractable door handles. These unique layouts enable the model to hit an impressive drag coefficient of 0.199 Cd, as per Car News China.
As for the dimensions, the Galaxy E8 is 5010 mm long, 1920 mm wide, and 1465 mm tall. It also has a wheelbase of 2925 mm.
Interior features
The Geely Galaxy E8 offers an enticing 45″ 8K OLED screen with a 10 mm thickness. It can also integrate Meizu phones through the Flyme Connect system. For context, Geely took over Meizu in 2022.
The EV’s multimedia system benefits from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 chip. It also offers NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) 2.0, which includes adaptive cruise control, self-parking, and more.
In addition, it has a spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with a gear selector behind it. It also features wireless charging pads, a concealed compartment, AR-HUD, and 12 Infinity speakers.

The Galaxy E8 is the first model under Geely’s umbrella to ride on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), which improves weight distribution and handling.
