Ford continues to drop hints about the soon-to-be-revealed official launch of its latest electric vehicle for the European market. The automaker apparently plans to fulfill the unveiling in approximately two weeks.
A brand-new electric vehicle (EV) that was specifically designed for the European market is going to be unveiled by Ford on March 21. This all-electric crossover will be the first of seven new models the automobile manufacturer intends to launch in Europe by the beginning of the following year.
An electric version of the Ford Puma
Current information about the vehicle is minimal. However, previous information disclosed by Ford provides us with some concepts and plans which will launch a determined effort toward expanding Ford’s electric vehicle lineup in Europe.
Teslarati reports that the electric vehicle will be manufactured in Cologne, Germany. It will be the first of two electric vehicles to be added to production lines at the factory where it will be manufactured.
The new vehicle introduced in two weeks will join the latest crossovers, a Tourneo Courier, Transit Custom, and Tourneo Custom vehicle.
Notably, one of the anticipated EVs from the automaker’s next-gen lineup is the Ford Puma.
Ford’s new battery plant in 2024
In line with a massive announcement made by the company the previous year, this particular vehicle is intended to serve as a replacement for the Ford Fiesta, which was scheduled to be discontinued shortly.
In retrospect, the announcement kicked off Ford’s huge plans for a big transformation toward electrification and is scheduled to begin this year.
The above Tweet from Martin Sander most likely mentioned that the Cologne Electrification Center would start electric vehicle production with a five-seat, medium-sized crossover vehicle.
In addition to producing electric vehicles (EVs), Ford’s investment in the plant will include constructing a new battery assembly facility scheduled to go into operation in 2024.
