American legacy automaker Ford finally released its first-ever passenger electric car offering for the Australian market, the Mustang Mach-E. According to The Driven, Ford held the local media launch of the model on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

During the product presentation, product Marketing Manager Myles Hartley reportedly disclosed that the automaker has already received hundreds of orders for the Mach-E, with GT accounting for 40%. 

Manager Hartley further indicated that 65% of foreign customers for the Mustang Mach-E are new to the brand.

Ford offers Australian customers three Mustang Mach-E variants: Select, Premium, and GT. Presented below are some of the key technical specifications:

Pricing

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has a base price of $79,990, excluding on-road costs for the RWD Select variant.

 Meanwhile, the Premium RWD variant costs $91,665 before on-road costs. The high-end variant GT starts at $107,665 before on-roads. Notably, the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT is currently the fastest model of the brand, with an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.

For these prices, customers of any of these variants can already access six safety and driver assistance features, including the following:

  • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert
  • Pre-Collision Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)5 
  • Reverse Brake Assist5 
  • Post-Collision Braking5 
  • Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control5 
  • Evasive Steer Assist

Ford aims to start customer deliveries for early reservation holders of the Mustang Mach-E in December 2023. After that, it will begin the shipments for its dealerships. Interested customers can buy the Mach-E online or through an authorized dealership.
