Italian automaker Fiat has just revealed its all-new Topolino model, which appears to be the cutest electric car in the world.
Interestingly, the car’s name shows tribute to the first Fiat 500, known as the Topolino (Italian for “little mouse”) and built from 1936 to 1955.
“The all-electric Fiat Topolino quadricycle will expand urban electric mobility and bring the optimism of its namesake to an accessible, all-electric version that encapsulates the coolness of the Fiat 500.”

About the Fiat Topolino
The Citroen Ami, another small-size EV under the Stellantis umbrella, apparently influenced the overall design of the Fiat Topolinontis. Apart from that, the contemporary Fiat 500 also serves as a stylistic inspiration for the Fiat Topolino.
The Fiat Topolino boasts quirky design features, including a canvas top, no side windows, and ropes as doors.
Considering its pleasingly weird features as a large European quadricycle, it cannot be licensed for use on Australian roads. For those unaware, a quadricycle is a four-wheel vehicle with a 4kW-15kW power capacity and a 45km/h maximum speed.
Can kids really drive it?
Anyone above 16 can drive a quadricycle in Europe, where they are still a common urban vehicle in small towns.
On the other hand, quadricycles are considered “vehicles without licence” in France. Therefore, anyone above 14 can drive the Fiat Topolino, considering they have successfully passed an eight-hour driving course at an accredited driving school.
Fiat previewed the Topolino with just one image, which confirms that it has two seats but offers little else.
In addition, the automaker has also not yet released pricing information for other countries. For reference, the inspiration model Citroen Ami has a current MSRP of €8390 ($AU13,777) in France.
