American fast charging network EVgo proudly announced Tuesday that its innovative Autocharge+ service is now available to more than 50 Plug & Charge-compatible electric vehicle models.
Autocharge+ is now available to over 50 EVs
According to the press release, EVgo’s Autocharge+ feature now accepts over 50 EV models in the United States. This revolutionary feature offers an exceptional customer experience for electric vehicle owners as it cuts the need for a mobile app, credit card, or EVgo program (RFID) card to use EVgo’s fast chargers.
It allows EV drivers to simply plug their cars into the charger without any hassle, widely known as the “Plug & Charge” capability. These models can access the Autocharge+ feature via CCS connectors and CCS Combo 1 adapters.
What’s Autocharge+?
EVgo initially introduced its Autocharge+ service in September 2022. Since then, it has continuously expanded to an increasing number of electric vehicles, including those from General Motors.
It substantially aids the company in its efforts to provide a “One & Done” mantra, which aims to offer drivers a successful charging experience on their first attempt without using any mobile apps or cards. According to EVgo, Autocharge+ boosted its One & Done success rate by 6% last year.
“The key to achieving widespread EV adoption in the US is giving EV drivers a convenient, streamlined charging experience, and Autocharge+ does just that. Through our collaboration with automakers and ongoing interoperability testing with new and existing EV models, EVgo continues to enhance the customer experience across the network for everyone – no matter which EV model they choose to drive.”
