The battery-electric vehicles segment for Kia has not seen much growth lately. The Kia EV6‘s volume fell year over year for the third consecutive month, according to InsideEVs.
Notably, 6,518 Kia EV6 cars were sold at wholesale prices in the previous month. Specifically, 4,343 of them were exported, while 2,175 were distributed in South Korea.
These figures are 6.8% less than a year ago, to be exact. However, it is also worth mentioning that the volume increased a little from October. Kia’s average monthly sales have been 6,500 since August and around 6,800 this year. That said, October does not appear to mark a significant advancement.
Kia EV6 wholesale sales
Kia EV6 wholesale volume has surpassed 68,000 this year to date. Therefore, the prediction that at least 80,000 could materialize in 2022 can be upheld.
The South Korean automaker produced over 97,000 EV6 in total, whereas 65,000 of them were exported.
In October, there were 6,518 wholesale Kia EV6s sold. 2,175 units were sold in South Korea, while 4,343 are exported.
Retail sales
The Kia EV6 has sold 3,904 retail units outside of South Korea, including 1,186 in the United States, according to the automaker’s monthly sales data report.
Meanwhile, there were 2,456 Niro EVs and 361 Soul EV retail sales outside South Korea.
Unfortunately, we do not have figures for Kia’s home market.
- EV6: 3,904 retail sales outside South Korea
- Niro EV: 2,456 retail sales outside South Korea
- Soul EV: 361 retail sales outside South Korea
- Total*: at least 8,896 (down 22% year-over-year) or 3.7% of the total volume
*South Korea (EV6) + overseas retail sales data (EV6, Niro EV, Soul EV)
Nonetheless, the South Korean automaker sold 238,660 vehicles globally in October, an 8.6% rise from the same month last year. As a result, the company increased its year-to-date sales by about 2.6% to 2.41 million units.
