Tesla is making steady improvements in the development and forthcoming production of the Cybertruck.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, hinted at this when he mentioned that he recently reviewed the production beta of the all-electric pickup truck.
Musk’s recent Cybertruck remark was in response to a user’s tweet stating that the all-electric pickup would be his private vehicle once it is released. Musk noted that the wait was well worth it for the Cybertruck.
I was just reviewing Cybertruck’s production beta, It is incredible.

Cybertruck’s production to begin
The CEO’s remark about a Cybertruck production beta aligns well with the forthcoming pickup.
Before Musk’s post, most sightings of the vehicle involved either the original Cybertruck prototype, released in 2019, or an alpha prototype with no door handles, distinct wheels, and a big windshield wiper.
In general, alpha prototypes are intended to justify the fundamental technologies on which a product is built.
Beta prototypes are more advanced because they are the most significant of the finished product that will be manufactured. With this in mind, Tesla has nearly completed the Cybertruck and is now preparing for the vehicle’s production to begin.
Gradual revelations of Cybertruck’s Beta prototype
Given Musk’s comments, it wouldn’t be surprising to see appearances of production beta Cybertrucks and, later, reveal candidate units in the following weeks or months.
This happened when Tesla was preparing to release the Model Y, with multiple release candidates spotted by EV fans before deliveries began.
While production of the Cybertruck will begin this year, Elon Musk set anticipations during the Q4 and FY 2022 earnings calls.
According to the CEO, the all-electric pickup truck will enter initial production this year and ramp up in 2024.
We do expect (Cybertruck) production to start maybe sometime this summer. But I always try to downplay the start of production because the start of production is always very slow. It increases exponentially, but it’s always very slow at first. So I wouldn’t put too much thought in start of production. It’s kind of when does volume production actually happen, and that’s next year
