Electrify Canada continues its network expansion with the anticipated opening of a new DC fast charging station in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Located at the Canadian Tire store at 4100 boulevard Josaphat-Rancourt, the new station is Electrify Canada’s sixth in Quebec, with additional stations planned to open in the province in 2023, as per Electric Cars Report.

#ElectrifyCanada continues to expand its electric vehicle charging network in Quebec. The new charging station in Sherbrooke brings Hyper-Fast (up to 350 kW) and Ultra-Fast (up to 150 kW) charging speeds to the area. Learn more: https://t.co/T9owBXxhwE #EV #Quebec pic.twitter.com/Nct4ywAFQz

The four individual chargers at the station provide some of the fastest charging speeds currently available (Hyper-Fast and Ultra-Fast), as outlined clearly by Electrify Canada’s new labels:

  • Fast: Indicates up to 350 kW of power delivery, which can provide about 32 km of driving range per minute of charging, depending on the EV’s charging capability.
  • Ultra-Fast: Indicates up to 150 kW of power delivery, which can provide about 14 km of driving range per minute of charging, depending on the EV’s charging capability.

Only certain EVs can take advantage of Hyper Fast 350 kW charging. If your vehicle can’t charge over 150 kW, keep the 350 kW chargers free for EVs that can, and use one of the Ultra-Fast 150 kW chargers. Like most Electrify Canada Network, this station has an overhead canopy to provide lighting and shelter from the weather. Consumers can pay by credit card at the charger or with the Electrify Canada mobile app (available on the App Store and Google Play), enabling contactless payment and session tracking.

In addition, the network deployed Plug & Charge technology, simplifying the payment method and allowing consumers with capable vehicles to plug in to pay after the initial account setup simply. Electrify Canada has a 24-hour customer contact center to support drivers during all travel hours.

“Our new Sherbrooke station will help enable electric vehicle mobility at the fastest charging speeds available today,” said the senior director of sales, business development, and marketing at Electrify Canada, Robert Barrosa.

“We are committed to building range confidence for consumers by expanding the Electrify Canada network in Quebec and throughout Canada.”

Further strengthening travel routes in the important Quebec market and joining other Electrify Canada locations in Drummondville, Montreal, Repentigy, Trois-Rivieres, and St. Romauld, the new station places the first Hyper-Fast (350 kW) chargers serving Sherbrooke.

Reason #4: Accessible charging. Charge your EV right at home or public fast-charging is a great way to top up on the road. By 2026, #ElectrifyCanada expects to have over 100 charging locations across nine provinces. There are many reasons to go electric, enjoy your #EV journey. pic.twitter.com/mnF5vRNk4f
