“We’re significantly accelerating our e-campaign and will be launching three additional all-electric models by 2026, with more in the pipeline. This will put us in an even stronger position for the decade of transformation. In addition, we’ll be investing a total of 5.6 billion euros in e-mobility and a further 700 million euros in digitalisation over the next five years, thus securing the future viability of the company and jobs.”

Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer

What is currently known about Skoda’s upcoming vehicles?

The first electric vehicle

As the automaker has already hinted, one of the three anticipated electric vehicles will be a more compact crossover.

As per the report, it will be matched with Volkswagen and Seat vehicles. Regarding its platform, it will be constructed using MEB Lite. That said, it will have front-wheel drive as standard, unlike those built on the MEB platform.

The second electric vehicle

The Czech automaker’s planned second model might serve as the existing Octavia’s all-electric successor. According to reports, it would not use the MEB platform, which Skoda relies on to support the Enyaq crossover.

That said, it will be constructed using Scalable Systems Platform (SSP), a new, customized EV architecture developed by the Volkswagen Group. The SSP is relevant to Skoda’s efforts in the EV industry as it will eventually displace all of the company’s current ICE, MEB, and PPE platforms.

Due to these improvements, Skoda can now offer a single solution for various vehicle designs.

The Vision 7S concept

Skoda’s three new EVs are reported to be a subcompact car, a small SUV, and a larger seven-seater SUV. The business may have hinted at it with the Vision 7S concept unveiled earlier this year.

Notably, the automaker’s upcoming significant corporate identity revamp is revealed through the Vision 7S concept. It specifically highlights the fundamental design language of every model expected to be released before the decade’s end and maybe after that.

“The VISION 7S is the forerunner of our new design language that we’ll be rolling out across the entire product portfolio over the coming years. We’ll also be using it to sharpen our customer appeal. With the new styling, we are taking the brand to the next level and aligning it to our customer’s new needs and expectations, particularly regarding user experience (UX), connectivity and the entire customer journey.”
