Tesla may have gained major skepticism from investors and industry experts over the year since CEO Elon Musk acquired the social media Twitter. Nonetheless, brand loyalty among customers remained strong this year. According to a new survey conducted by Bloomberg, Tesla Model 3 owners with plans to buy a new electric vehicle mostly prefer the all-electric Cybertruck.
Bloomberg conducted a survey on 5,000 Tesla Model 3 owners regarding various matters related to the Chief Executive and the automaker itself. Some of the topics focused on CEO Musk’s public reputation, brand perception, customer satisfaction, etc.
Report highlights
According to the survey results, almost 75% of Tesla Model 3 owners with plans to purchase a new vehicle in the following two years prefer to get another Tesla vehicle.
Nearly 52% of them want to get the Cybertruck. Notably, most of them have probably placed a pre-order already. As EV-a2z previously reported, the all-electric truck has already collected 1.9 million orders.
In addition, 23.6% of the Tesla Model 3 owners want to buy the famous Model Y as their next vehicle. That is unsurprising, given that it is set to advance as the world’s first top-selling EV in a year, regardless of powertrain.
Remarkably, most of the Model 3 owners involved in the survey prefer the Cybertruck over the other five Tesla models combined, including the Model Y, 3, S, X, and Gen 3 Vehicle. Moreover, Model 3 owners’ top three choices were Rivian R1S, R1T, and the Ford F-150 Lightning.
However, it remains uncertain if Cybertruck’s popularity can cannibalize the Model 3 sales. Nonetheless, this survey’s result demonstrates the prevalence of SUV and pickup truck models over sedans.
