Detroit-based automotive brand Chevrolet is trying to entice Bolt EV owners to get the all-new Equinox EV with up to $3,000 price cut, CarsDirect reported, citing a new memo sent to dealers.
Chevy Bolt EV owners to benefit from up to $3K discount
An owner or lessee of a 2017 or newer Chevy Bolt EV/EUV could receive up to $3,000 in discounts when they lease or finance the new Equinox EV. The move is apparently part of the brand’s efforts to boost its electric vehicle sales this year.
Chevy’s up to $3,000 discount incentive will be available through April 30 if customers lease or finance the Equinox EV through GM Finance. While loyalty discounts are already common, this new incentive is substantially higher than others.
If customers prefer to buy the new Equinox EV without financing it, the incentive drops to $2,500 off the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP).
Deducting the maximum $3,000 discount to the Chevy Equinox EV brings the price down to just $31,995. However, this price is based on the $34,995 MSRP of the entry-level LT trim due in late 2024.
As of now, Chevy is only accepting reservations for the 2LT and 3LT trims, starting at $43,295 and $45,295, respectively. Presented below are the available trims of the Chevy Equinox EV, along with their pricing:
Chevy Equinox EV trim | Starting Price (including $1,395 destination fee) |
1LT FWD | $34,995 |
2LT FWD | $43,295 |
2RS FWD | $44,795 |
3LT FWD | $45,295 |
3RS FWD | $46,795 |
Chevy Equinox EV vs. Competition
To guide prospective electric vehicle buyers, here is the table comparing the Chevy Equinox EV with its rivals in the US:

Chevy Equinox EV 1LT | $34,995 | 319 mi | 17.7″ |
Chevy Equinox EV 2LT | $43,295 | 319 mi | 17.7″ |
Tesla Model Y RWD | $45,380 | 260 mi | 15″ |
VW ID.4 Standard RWD | $40,290 | 209 mi | 12″ |
Hyundai IONIQ 5 standard range | $43,175 | 220 mi | 12.25″ |
Nissan Ariya Engage FWD | $44,555 | 216 mi | 12.3″ |
Volvo EX30 single-motor extended range | $36,245 | 275 mi | 12.3″ |
Considering that the entry-level LT trim has yet to be released, the current cheapest Equinox EV is the 2LT FWD, which costs $43,295.
The brand plans to retire its current Bolt EV as it gears up to roll out a new Ultium-based model in 2025. The Ultium Bolt EV will come with LFP batteries as the company seeks to cut costs and boost sales. With some units left, Chevy Bolt EVs sell below $20,000, including the federal tax credits.
