Chinese automaker Chery and tech giant Huawei, through their Luxeed premium electric vehicle brand, officially launched the S7 flagship sedan at a special event in Shanghai on Tuesday, November 28.
The Luxeed S7 will definitely shake up the Chinese market with its maximum driving range of 855 km and an affordable price of about $35,000 for the entry-level trim.
The official launch
Chery, Huawei formally introduced the new Luxeed S7 at a launch event on Tuesday in Shanghai. Huawei Automotive head Richard Yu drove the model to demonstrate its greatness to attendees, Electrek reported.
The Chinese partners also revealed the S7’s four trims, along with their range and pricing.
Notably, the Luxeed S7 rides on Huawei’s 800V “Giant Whale” platform that enables a driving range of 215 km (134 miles) in just 5 minutes. It can also provide a 430 km (267 miles) driving range in just fifteen minutes of charging.

Design and features
According to Huawei Central, the Luxeed S7 incorporates a new design with the following features:
- High and low-beam headlights
- Turn signals
- Corner lights
- Wind knives
- Side air intake curtains, etc
It is 188.6 inches (4,971 millimeters) long, 77.3 inches (1,963 millimeters) wide, and 58 inches (1,474 millimeters) tall, sporting a wheelbase of 116.1 inches (2,950 millimeters).
Luxeed S7’s chassis features intelligent body collaborative control, multi-modal fusion perception, and dynamic adaptive torque systems. It also has a smart air suspension damping adjustment.
Huawei and Chery claim that pre-orders for the new Luxeed S7 have already topped the 20,000 threshold as of November 28. The partners expect the model to dominate the Chinese market with its innovative technologies, long-range, and affordable pricing.
Customers who place an order before the end of the year can benefit from up to $7,750 in free add-ons, such as the Huawei 2.0 ADAS, as the brand seeks to boost demand. Meanwhile, deliveries will begin in 2024.
