The partnership’s commitment

CATL announced today that the partnership would be committed to accelerating Japan‘s electrification through battery tech and supply. As per the press release, CATL will provide a reliable supply of power cells for Daihatsu’s electric vehicle models.

The Chinese juggernaut will also enhance the battery technology in Daihatsu vehicles through cell-to-pack (CTP) and battery management systems (BMS).

According to the press release, Daihatsu can boost its EV capacity and performance owing to CATL’s cutting-edge batteries. Having said that, the partnership will offer affordable EV products to Japan and other developing countries.

Furthermore, it is also a part of CATL’s broader effort to expand its global presence. The Chinese battery company claims it would enable them to penetrate local markets like Southeast Asia and Japan.
