Auto solution provider Cars.com has just announced its 2023 Top Picks for electric vehicles on March 28 as part of the company’s 2023 EV Buying Guide.
The established auto platform named the award-winning Kia Niro its “Top Pick: Commuter EV.”
According to a press statement from Kia America, this is the Niro family’s second category-level award from Cars.com.
It apparently came after the platform awarded the Niro Hybrid the Best Car of 2023.
Also, it is the first victory for a Kia vehicle in this contest.

As mentioned, the Niro EV was chosen among over 40 rivals for the “Top Pick: Commuter EV” award.
Why Kia Niro EV?
The revamped 2023 Kia Niro EV is a front-wheel-drive, four-door small hatchback.
Cars.com claims the Niro EV is affordable with its fairly low base price. Per Kia’s US online configurator, the base price of the 2023 Niro EV is $39,550.
It also boasts a maximum range of 253 miles between charges. The Niro EV can charge from 0 to 100% in approximately 7 hours with a Level 2 charger.

The auto platform also considered the car’s ride comfort and innovative features.
“The cabin is a pleasant place to be when you’re stuck in traffic. Plus, the hatchback body packs a respectable amount of cargo and passenger space within tidy, easy-to-park exterior dimensions (just in case anyone out there is still carpooling in 2023).
We loved the Niro hybrid variant so much that it nabbed our Best Car of 2023 award, and now the Niro EV brings home its own accolade as Cars.com’s EV Top Pick for commuters.”
