The three millionth new energy vehicle from BYD was ceremoniously rolled off the production line on November 16 at the Chinese automaker’s global headquarters, as reported by InsideEVs.
Prominent soccer player got the jubilee NEV
Wang Shuang received the three millionth new energy vehicle BYD Seal from CEO Wang Chuanfu at the ceremony. He is a soccer player who was awarded Asian Football Confederation Women’s Player of the Year in 2018. Wang Shuang stated:
“It is a great honor to be the owner of BYD’s 3 millionth new energy vehicle. I hope everyone can support sustainable mobility to help Cool the Earth by 1℃ and show our strength to the world.”
BYD’s milestones
In retrospect, the automaker claimed that the milestone of one million plug-in electric vehicles was reached after 13 years in May 2021. About a year after, the 2,000,000th vehicle was delivered.
Finally, it took the automaker only six months to produce and deliver the 3,000,000th vehicle.
These production and delivery figures demonstrate a record-setting of over 200,000 vehicles monthly. BYD should achieve 4 million and 5 million in cumulative sales in 2023, barring any major setbacks to its expansion.
BYD presently delivers its NEVs to more than 400 cities in 70 different nations and regions across six continents. In 2022, BYD expanded into new markets, including those in Europe, Japan, Thailand, Brazil, and other areas.
“Dealing with the industrial transformation and the ever-changing consumption trends in the future, BYD will continue to focus on scientific and technological innovation. In addition to that, BYD will keep on fulfilling people’s pursuit for a better life with leading technologies and diversified products”, said Wang Chuanfu.
