Chinese electric automaker BYD, through its Indian arm, celebrated the popular Atto 3’s first anniversary on October 11.
According to HT Auto, the special event overlaps with the automaker’s 16-year mission of developing clean energy vehicles.
BYD Atto 3’s progress in India
BYD initially launched the BYD Atto 3 in India on October 11, 2022. This luxury e-SUV signifies the company’s official entry into the passenger car market in the country, according to the press release published in 2022.
“We are happy to announce the launch of our much-acclaimed electric SUV in India. With proven and innovative technology, we are on track towards building a stronger ecosystem that facilitates EV adoption in our country. The launch of BYD-ATTO 3 is a step towards this mission. We will constantly contribute to building a greener future.”

Since then, BYD Atto 3 advanced as one of the company’s top-selling passenger cars in India. It has also been attracting many customers in various foreign markets, including Singapore, Brazil, Thailand, New Zealand, Israel, and Sweden etc.
BYD has so far launched the Atto 3 to a total of 50+ countries and regions across the world. It achieved a production milestone of 500,000 units in just 19 months since its launch, EV-a2z reported.
Celebration
BYD reportedly launched an event named “Parikrama of Prakriti” that aims to integrate the nature spirit with innovative car technology.
According to GaadiKey, this special event signifies the Chinese automaker’s strong dedication to contributing to sustainable mobility.
