Blink Charging, an American provider of EV charging services and equipment, has launched its innovative Blink HQ 200 Smart Home Charger. The leading company claims that this technology is a “game changer in home charging,” according to Electrek.
HQ 200 Smart Home Charger to promote EV uptake
The newly developed HQ 200 Smart Home Charger is a sophisticated level 2 (L2) technology. It can be used with the recently updated mobile app from Blink.
This home charging technology can now interact with smart devices like Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Siri and even schedule when to charge the customer’s device. Notably, these are possible with over-the-air software updates.
Blink CEO Michael D. Farkas provides the following explanation of how the new technology can support the adoption of EVs in general:
“With more than 80 percent of EV drivers expected to charge at home, the advanced HQ 200 home charging unit is a sensible, convenient and economic solution for a new generation of EV drivers and their charging needs. With new, cutting-edge EV charging solutions such as the HQ 200, Blink is leading the industry into the next era of EV ownership at scale and accelerating the path to achieve global electrification goals.”
Remarkably, it will enable EV drivers to charge at off-peak rates. At the same time, it also has an energy management tech to increase performance, which will help them save money.

Blink’s global footprint
Blink has penetrated 20 countries with its charging services and equipment. The company aims to aid electric vehicle uptake through its technologies.
In retrospect, the American company has deployed more than 58,907 chargers and gathered over 440,000 network users in North America in Q3 2022.
It is also worth noting that Blink increased its foothold in the United Kingdom by acquiring Electric Blue in April. Then, it qualified for US credits with vertically integrated production after it acquired SemaConnect in June 2022.
Apart from these, Blink unveiled a new mobile app and charging network in October that provides more efficient systems.
Remarkably, the HQ 200 Smart Home Charger is intended to simplify EV adoption for drivers by delivering a smooth, effective, and inexpensive experience.
