Solar EV startup Aptera Motors has secured its first fleet pre-order from eco-accelerator SustainabilitySooner.com, according to the press release.
In hindsight, Aptera has just revealed the Launch Edition of its tri-wheel solar EV on January 21. The 700-watt solar technology used in the Launch Edition was apparently developed in-house. Moreover, the integrated PV cells in the car can produce up to 40 miles of electricity each day.
SustainabilitySooner, Inc. pre-orders 101 solar EVs from Aptera
Aptera is committed to delivering 101 units of its 400-mile range AWD solar EVs to SustainabilitySooner.com, per the initial pre-order.
The non-binding pre-order apparently costs $3.35 million in future revenue, marking the companies’ first of numerous potential collaborations to achieve sustainable fleet solutions.
As per the announcement, SustainabilitySooner.com aims to expand the initial pre-ordered fleet of 101 “Apterae” to 101,000 or more units.
“SustainabilitySooner.com placed Aptera’s first fleet order because Aptera is building the most climate positive vehicle on the planet. The next mobility revolution must be a climate positive revolution.”
David Fuller, SustainabilitySooner.com CEO
Objective
The partners aim to contribute to saving the planet from harmful pollution by decreasing carbon emissions across their products and services.
Aptera noted that solar EVs could significantly lessen the electric pollution footprint as they do not entirely rely on the grid.
Remarkably, Aptera generates 0g of CO2e/mi and 0g of NOx and VOC criterion emissions when drivers who commute less than 40m/day fully use the onboard solar-produced power.
Aptera SEVs’ role in the Climaculture practice of SustainabilitySooner.com
The announcement highlighted that SustainabilitySooner.com is employing a “Climaculture” strategy to address the world’s climate change-related issues today.
For those unaware, Climaculure is “the science and practice of cultivating plants and organisms synchronously with land management to produce clean, sustainable air, water, and energy,” per Electrek.
That said, the company expects Aptera’s SEVs to aid them in uncovering raw land sites without harmful emissions. After that, it would employ “artificially intelligent robotic solutions” to identify, plant, maintain, research, and film local plants and wildlife. At the same time, it will give its users 24/7 digital access to see and engage online.
“We’re grateful to establish our very first fleet deal with SustainabilitySooner.com, a change-maker that embraces the solar mobility movement and empowers the community to make the world a better place. It’s great to see a forward-thinking company deploying this technology in such an innovative way.”
