Honda’s luxury brand Acura officially opened reservations for its inaugural all-electric vehicle model, 2024 ZDX, on Monday.
As per the press release, all sales transactions will transpire in the company’s newly developed omnichannel digital sales process. It aligns with Acura’s announcement in March to sell its EVs exclusively online by 2024.
How to reserve a 2024 Acura ZDX?
The 2024 Acura ZDX offers two variants, including the entry-level performance SUV and the high-performance ZDX Type S.
Interested customers can now design and pre-order a new ZDX in the model’s official online configurator.
The first customers are expected to receive deliveries in early 2024. Acura will give reservation holders an Energy Key Card that includes exclusive benefits such as access to the following Acura-funded events:
- 2024 Sundance Film Festival
- 2024 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach with VIP access to Acura Owner spaces and exclusive programming
It will also offer discounts from the brand’s entertainment and audio partners, including Topgolf and Bang & Olufsen.
Technical details
According to CarScoops, the Acura ZDX will ride on General Motors’ popular Ultium platform.
It apparently features a 102 kWh battery pack that enables a maximum driving range of 325 miles (523 km) between charges.
Acura expects the 2024 ZDX A-Spec to have a base price of about $60,000 with a single-motor RWD powertrain. It can reportedly generate an output of 340 hp (254 kW/345 PS) from its rear electric motor.
Meanwhile, the dual-motor AWD ZDX Type S variant is expected to start at about $70,000. It can generate a maximum output of 500 hp (373 kW/507 PS) owing to its dual motors.
Acura to adopt Tesla NACS
The move will enable future Acura EV owners to access Tesla’s reliable and enormous Supercharging network across North America. However, the company has yet to clarify plans about the potential launch of a charging adapter before it starts equipping its EVs with NACS port, like other brands.
Acura also attempts to attract customers with three available free charging package options, including home charging installation and equipment and access to EVgo and Electrify America’s charging networks.
