The Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck initially conveyed an outstanding value proposition for customers who instantly placed reservations and received their vehicle. However, those exceptional good times are long gone as its prices will now set you back.
Nonetheless, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is still an excellent all-electric truck. It has many of the same features as the 2022 model, including an all-wheel-drive powertrain, a large battery, and a long-range, but prices have risen.
Range
The Ford F-150 Lightning’s official EPA combined range ranges from 240 to 320 miles (240 miles with the Standard Range battery and 300-320 miles with the Extended Range battery):
· 240 miles on a 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro/XLT/Lariat SR (386 km)
10 miles further than the 2022 model year version
· 320 miles on a 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro/XLT/Lariat ER (515 km)
· 300 miles on a 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum ER 22-inch (483 km)
The energy consumption of the trucks (all versions) is precisely the same as in 2022, indicating that the change from 230 to 240 miles was merely a minor tweak.
The EPA combined test cycle should provide users with approximately 500 watt-hours per mile (310 Wh/km), including charging losses. According to the rating, driving on a highway can increase energy consumption by 10%.

Market price
Prices for the Ford F-150 Lightning rose several times (along with the destination charge), as described in August and October 2022.
Prices now are more reasonable when compared to the vehicle’s value, the overall market condition (truck prices, costs), and the supply-demand balance.
Prices now start at $55,974 (+$1,895 for destination), which is $16,000 (or 40%) more than in the beginning.
The F-150 Lightning XLT ER has an MSRP of $80,974, which is $8,500 (or 12%) more than the base price, while the top-of-the-line Platinum costs $96,874 ($6,000 or 7% more).
In general, the price increase appears smaller for the more expensive versions. Part of the reason could be a change in the federal tax credit, which now only applies to models under $80,000.
Aside from that, the more expensive trims are typically more profitable and do not necessitate as many changes as the very affordable entry-level variants.
The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro SR’s base price is $50,369 after subtracting the federal tax credit and the destination charge. That amount is $16,200 or 47 percent more than the initial ($34,169).
The effective difference is $16,200 (or 24 percent) with the XLT ER version (initially $66,669) because the price cap eliminates eligibility for the $7,500 federal tax credit.
The effective price of the Platinum version is $13,700, or 16% more than the initial $85,069 price.
Because the Lightning Pro ER (previously available only for fleet) is not listed on the company’s website, we left a blank space. It was initially available with an MSRP of $49,974.
