Jean-Philippe Imparato, the CEO of Alfa Romeo, has stated that the company’s Giulia sedan will be replaced by a fully electric vehicle in 2025.

Imparato also noted that the electric vehicle, in its Quadrifoglio configuration, will be capable of producing 1000 horsepower and have a range of up to 435 miles.

The Giulia has been available for purchase since the year 2016. It has been a major contributor to the Alfa Romeo brand’s revival, along with the Stelvio SUV.

On the other hand, there is no question that a significant update is required for it. A tame facelift in 2022 did little to conceal the building’s advanced age.

It would make sense for Alfa to replace the Giulia with an electric vehicle (EV), which might also help the company attract new customers.

Electric Stelvio is coming in 2026

Because the Giulia EV will have an electrical architecture capable of handling 800V, it will only take about 18 minutes to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent.

Given the above information regarding the vehicle’s range and performance, it is reasonable to assume that the battery pack will have a capacity of at least 100 kWh. However, this information has yet to be made public.

In the meantime, a battery-powered version of the Stelvio is anticipated for 2026. The electric Stelvio is intended to be a competitor to the Porsche Macan EV and is anticipated to have a range of more than 300 miles at around $60,000.

The first electric vehicle to be manufactured by Alfa Romeo will be an SUV that competes in the B segment (a crossover in US terms).

Alfa Romeo to release EV sedan in 2027

According to rumors, the name of the crossover will be the Brennero, and it will be offered both in the conventional internal combustion engine and hybrid drivetrain configurations. It will be ready the following year and located below the Tonale and the Stelvio.

At this time, it is impossible to say whether or not the Brennero will be sold in the United States.

In addition, Alfa plans to release a flagship electric vehicle sedan by the year 2027.

Although little information is available at this time, the forthcoming electric sedan will compete with vehicles such as the Porsche Taycan and the Tesla Model S and will focus primarily on selling to consumers in the United States and China.

Brilliant conversation with Alfa Romeo boss Imparato, so happy with the firm's 2022 financials he opened up about new Giulia Electric, coming 2025 with 1000hp Quadrifoglio version and 435 miles of range. Plus 3 new SUVs and a supercar! Story at https://t.co/m4IgVPKgVK pic.twitter.com/XNsN4I1DZc
