Which brands make EVs?

Which brands make electric vehicles? As more and more demands grow around the production of EVs, the following are the seven electric car companies to look for:

1. Tesla

Tesla is known to produce top-quality vehicles that provide high-end performance and innovative vehicle developments. Tesla’s vehicles show a good balance between efficiency, affordability, and range. Their models include Tesla Model S, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model X, and Tesla Model Y.

2. BMW

Bayerische Motoren Worke, or Bavarian Motor Works, also known as BMW, is a luxurious German car company that produces a variety of high-performing vehicles and motorcycles. With the BMW i3 entering the electric car market, the model has been updating throughout the years of its release, and its improved range between charges is going strong.

3. Nissan

For almost a century, Nissan has made quite a mark in the automotive industry. The Nissan Leaf leads electric vehicles under Nissan. It is proven to be one of the world’s most popular electric vehicles in the market, providing stability and availability with a good balance of price points. 

4. Chevrolet

Chevrolet is usually referred to as Chevvy and is formally known as the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors. It sells a variety of vehicles worldwide. Chevrolet’s Bolt is their first release to the EV market and offers long-range with below the price other car manufacturers have. Chevrolet’s new models, such as Equinox, Blazer, and Silverado, are expected to join the Bolt by 2023.

5. Ford

Ford has considered a classic American car maker, offering several vehicles for sale worldwide. It has become one of the most accessible car brands to recognize. Ford Mustang Mach-E is their leading electric vehicle. Today, Ford is working on electrifying the F-150 truck and Mustang sports car.

6. Volkswagen

Volkswagen is a car manufacturer headquartered in Germany. Volkswagen grew to have popular models of cars and offers diverse electric vehicles. Their electric vehicles feature an amount of space and safety characteristics. Today, Volkswagen has the ID.4, ID.5, and other models to be released. 

7. Kia

Kia is a South Korean company that produces reliable and affordable car models. Over the years, Kia has grown to cultivate new and existing customers. The Kia Niro is the most popular EV model in their brand around the United States, with over 26k sales in 2021. The company has announced more EV models coming soon.

8. BYD

BYD, an acronym for “Build Your Dreams,” is a Chinese multinational company specializing in electric vehicles (EVs), battery technology, and renewable energy solutions. Founded in 1995, BYD has grown to become one of the world’s leading EV manufacturers, offering a diverse lineup of cars, buses, trucks, and other commercial vehicles. The company’s success can be attributed to its emphasis on innovation, vertical integration, and extensive research and development.
