Innovations are continuously in the making across different areas of study. In particular, almost all electric vehicle brands and developers are eyeing and vying for the same line of success in varying degrees of goals and objective ways.

Some eye what lies ahead of the future of transportation while some lean toward improving the present. But with all the inventions built by some of the greatest minds in the automotive industry, what new technologies will EVs bring?

EV technology’s progress

Electric vehicle technology has undoubtedly progressed mainly in the following area: travel range, charge capacity, safety ratings, efficiency, performance, aesthetics, and affordability. On top of that, a few industries have started joining the EV drive, including racing, motorcycles, electric semi-trucks, boating, and airplanes.

Furthermore, six known technologies are either being integrated into EVs or possibly soon. These include intelligent EV charging, self-healing algorithms for EV charging management, vehicle-to-X (V2X), EV battery technology, a megawatt charging system for big trucks, and smart battery management.

Just last month, Chinese EV battery giant CATL was reportedly exploring a new tech without lithium. However, other EV battery firms have already outpaced it.

For more efficient chemical mixtures in batteries. For example, CATL has developed sodium-ion batteries 👇🏻that do not use the scarce minerals, Lithium and Cobalt. BTW, china has made 'rare Earth minerals' a strategic sector too. china's dominance in EV batteries, solar components pic.twitter.com/Cys72n4aOd

As such, there are many possibilities EV technology could bring. These new potential developments may expand the capabilities of electric vehicles and work well for consumers’ EV experience. Overall, as EVs continue to grow in popularity, they will likely bring a wide range of new technologies that will continue to revolutionize the automotive industry.
