YouTube vlogger Sean Mitchell recently polled Tesla owners to determine the prevalence of battery pack failure and replacement for Tesla vehicles, according to InsideEVs.
In his subsequent video, he included the same information about Tesla’s electric motors.
Battery warranty
It is worth noting that the battery packs in electric vehicles are not intended to endure for many years and miles. Therefore, they could also fail and need to be replaced in rare circumstances.
However, their warranty is at least eight years or 100,000 miles long. That said, if the battery in your EV has to be replaced after the warranty period, you probably receive your money’s worth.
Data gathering
All Things EVs YouTuber aims to discover more about reported battery and motor issues. Notably, about 200 Tesla owners worldwide provided data to his survey.
Gaps
It is worth noting that Sean is clear about the gaps in his data and the inadequacy of his sample size to establish a valid scientific hypothesis. That said, the purpose of releasing these videos was to collect more data.
Furthermore, other viewers have noted that the results will probably be biased even if many additional Tesla customers complete the survey.
Nonetheless, potential respondents are more probable to watch the videos and complete the poll if they have experienced problems with their Tesla battery or electric motor. On the other hand, non-Tesla owners might be entertained and engaged with the content.
That said, please take a moment to complete Sean’s survey if you are a Tesla owner. Your response would significantly contribute to the survey’s progress and use the available data on Tesla batteries and electric motors.
