“Electric cars are reliable.”

Jake Fisher, the head of automotive testing for Consumer Reports

He added that electric vehicles are less complicated than their internal combustion engine or hybrid-vehicle counterparts.

EVs have fewer moving components

One advantage of electric cars is that they have fewer moving parts than gasoline-powered ones, making them less prone to mechanical issues.

The simplicity of the work electric motors do leads to less wear of components. They also can reduce the likelihood of breakdowns and the need for maintenance.

Interestingly, Consumer Reports’ Auto Reliability and Satisfaction survey results revealed that current EV owners are delighted. Survey respondents with EVs have a high satisfaction of 76%.

However, the respondents also stated reliability issues of EVs, claiming electric SUVs to be the least reliable car. It’s also worth noting that some electric car models have had manufacturing defects or design flaws, resulting in recalls and other quality control issues. The reliability of EVs opens up a space for improvement to convince new buyers of electric vehicles.

Companies strive to ensure EV safety

EV and battery companies are working hard to ensure and advance the safety of this rapidly growing technology.

American EV giant Tesla’s Model Y recently received the Safety Award from What Car? It signifies the car’s reliability, which contributes to urging more customers to consider buying.

From sports cars, let’s move on to sports SUVs.

Our winner costs a fraction of the price of most sports SUVs and is guaranteed to put a huge smile on your face when the road turns tight and twisty.

Apart from that, CATL and UL Solutions are also advancing EV battery safety and efficiency.

We're leading the charge to help make electric vehicle ownership more convenient, reliable & affordable. 🔌 We intend to build our own EV fast-charging network at thousands of stores & clubs by 2030, in addition to the 1,300 charging stations we have now. https://t.co/TIkfEHxusw pic.twitter.com/IxOJBpkdm7

Governments imposing rules of going-all electric mandate and putting up stricter emissions norms, and electric cars are dependable for reducing transportation emissions. However, electric vehicles adding more technological advancements count to their complex issues and are causing problems.
