More significantly, Kia also began the deliveries of its new EV9 electric SUVs, with the first five units being sold in the US last month. The new model’s monthly sales have a strong potential to surge to four digits in 2024. According to InsideEVs, Kia stated that the EV9 secured deposits from reservation holders in all 50 US states.

The Kia EV9 earns recognition from the British automotive market, highlighting its family-friendly features and challenging preconceptions about electric SUVs.

Meanwhile, the new Kia EV9 sold its first five units last month. Unfortunately, the sales data of the Kia Niro EV is unavailable because it is merged with its internal combustion engine-powered counterpart for a total of 2,366 units.

The auto news platform estimates that Niro EV sales may have reached 1,100+ units in November based on its previous sales from a “different source.”

This year to date, Kia EV6’s sales have surpassed 17,600 units in the US (down 9% YoY).

Meanwhile, the Kia Niro EV sold nearly 10,000 units (up 37% YoY) from January to October period. That said, Kia’s overall BEV volume after November may exceed 28,000 units.

In hindsight, Kia’s sales reached a total of more than 28,700 units in the US in Full Year 2022. However, other plug-in model sales are counted together with their ICE-powered and non-rechargeable hybrid counterparts.

“Demand for Kia vehicles continues at an all-time high and to beat our previous annual sales record in less than 11 months demonstrates the power of the Kia brand and growing lineup of rugged and capable SUVs, sports sedans and innovative EVs. New customers are shopping Kia like never before and our retailers are selling more vehicles than ever, and with the groundbreaking EV9 SUV arriving shortly in showrooms and the updated Sorento SUV on the way, we anticipate Kia’s winning streak will extend well into the new year.”

Eric Watson, Kia America Vice President of Sales Operations
