The Tesla Semi is almost ready after several setbacks and years of development. At a special event on December 1, the first deliveries of the highly anticipated electric truck will occur, as per InsideEVs.
Notably, the first client to receive the Semi was PepsiCo.
Tesla Semi production and delivery
In retrospect, CEO Elon Musk made the announcement about the Tesla Semi’s production on October 6. He also clarified that the first delivery would start on December 1.
The American automaker is reported to unveil the production version of the Tesla Semi at the said event, which was confirmed by Tesla’s head of investor relations, Martin Viecha. He Tweeted:
“If you want to attend the Semi delivery event as a retail shareholder, please make sure you have a verified shareholder status on our IR website (unverified manual submissions are eligible if the paperwork is correct). We’ll be doing a random draw where 1 share = 1 entry.”
Tesla shareholder platform
It is worth noting that Viecha is alluding to the new Tesla Shareholder Platform, which the automaker unveiled in July.
The said platform aims to give its retail shareholders new features and allow them to participate in events.
According to current indications, the Tesla Semi event will be one of the platform’s initial applications.
Furthermore, the electric vehicle giant is anticipated to give the first vehicles to clients, as is typical for Tesla delivery events. Apart from this, the vehicle program should also be discussed, which is way past due for the Tesla Semi.
It is uncertain if there will be extensive information regarding the Tesla Semi on December 1. The automaker previously claimed that “less than 2 kWh per mile” was the efficiency it aimed for.
Nonetheless, it is a relief to see things getting back to as Tesla stopped such events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
