Cybertruck’s global tour
Tesla has recently deployed Cybertruck across the globe. Before announcing its debut in Thailand, the electric pickup had already gone to China.
Unsurprisingly, interested electric vehicle and Tesla fans gathered around the electric pickup during its Chinese debut. It is indeed remarkable, considering that pickup trucks are not really popular among Chinese customers.
It was no different in Mexico, as shown by the enormous amount of interest the Cybertruck generated when the Nuevo León Governor drove the electric pickup to two events. As expected, Mexican people gathered around the electric pickup to check its unique design.
Potential Thai factory
Tesla is building its new gigafactory in Nuevo Leòn, Mexico. The Cybertruck also went to China, which houses Tesla’s Gigafactory 3. All these considered, many people may wonder why Tesla is eyeing Thailand for the next Cybertruck debut.
As recent reports suggest, the Thai government and the Musk-led company have been negotiating about a potential domestic gigafactory for some time already. In fact, an official from the Prime Minister’s office disclosed that the discussions between the government and Tesla are progressively taking shape.
The Thai government is reportedly trying to court Tesla by offering 100% green energy to support the potential factory’s operation.
Notably, Tesla’s Thailand website has already been updated to include Cybertruck. All that said, it would be interesting to see if Tesla would really invest in a local factory in Thailand in the future.
