American electric vehicle giant Tesla has finally resurrected the Long Range Rear-Wheel-Drive version of its popular Model 3, now available as the second cheapest option for the electric sedan in the US.
Tesla relaunches Model 3 LR RWD
In hindsight, Tesla halted the production and sales of some Model 3 variants since the Highland refresh.
In a significant development, the Musk-led company announced Thursday the relaunch of one of those variants (Long Range RWD) in an email to customers today.
“Travel up to 363 miles (EPA est.) on a single charge and enjoy the performance and handling of our rear-wheel drive powertrain for longer. Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive is here, starting at $29,990* after federal tax credit and estimated gas savings.”
Tesla
Tesla markets the new Model 3 LR RWD at only $29,990, per the online configurator. However, it must be noted that this variant’s base price is actually $42,490 before incentives and other deductions. For instance, it qualifies for the full federal tax credit of $7,500 under the Inflation Reduction Act.
In addition, Tesla also indicated the estimated 5-year gas savings of $5,000 to come up with the $29,990 pricing.
