By the end of 2025, the San Francisco-headquartered firm aims to have transitioned 50% of its fleet to electric or hybrid vehicles.
Unfortunately, the number of Lightning vehicles owned by the firm and the locations in the US where they operate has yet to be disclosed.
Sunrun and Ford’s long-standing partnership
The solar and battery storage company has also previously partnered with the American automaker giant, based on its updated 2021 Impact Report.
Through the partnership, Sunrun customers can use their Lightning vehicles to power their houses, when necessary, as a backup energy source.
Ford Intelligent Backup Power is best installed by Sunrun. Notably, the 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro and Home Integration system are the two main components that the two businesses jointly developed.
Furthermore, the bidirectional Ford Charge Station Pro can either charge the truck or power the home while the Lightning is connected.
In addition, Sunrun and Enel X Way also released a Level 2 home EV charger in October.
