A possible test mule of the highly awaited Tesla Model Y “Juniper'” refresh appeared for the first time in California ahead of its official launch.
Camouflaged Tesla Model Y ‘Juniper’ refresh spied
Reddit user JackIJack had the exclusive sighting of the alleged 2025 Tesla Model Y refresh outside the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California.
The sighting occurred almost a year after the launch of the updated version of its sibling Tesla Model 3 dubbed “Highland.”
“Running around rose bowl today and saw a masked Model Y parking nearby. Looks like the front is just as same shape as highland.”

Design changes
As you can see in the spy photo, the speculated 2025 Tesla Model Y’s front and rear bumpers are under wraps. The heavy camouflage makes it challenging to identify anything beneath it.
The Reddit user asserted he was not able to spot any notable feature inside the vehicle due to the covers.
“I did a quick look inside, everything is covered.”
Reddit user JackIJack
The new Tesla Model Y’s heavy disguise is similar to the Model 3 Highland sightings from last year, demonstrating Tesla’s efforts to keep features a surprise until the official debut.
Nonetheless, it may receive some of the upgrades in the Tesla Model 3 Highland, including new heated and ventilated seats, upgraded cameras, longer range, and heavy refinement from its predecessor.
Potential arrival
Interestingly, the 2025 Tesla Model Y refresh sighting occurred only weeks after CEO Elon Musk declared that the company has no plans to launch a refresh of the popular electric crossover in 2024.
However, according to the company’s recent statements, the new Model Y Juniper will likely arrive in early 2025.
The potential launch of the Tesla Model Y refresh will undoubtedly make the world’s top-selling car more attractive to customers across the world. It also demonstrates Tesla’s ongoing commitment to innovation, keeping current owners and prospective buyers eagerly awaiting the next Model Y electric crossover evolution.
With vehicle sales usually down to kick off the start of the year, introducing a new Model Y refresh would certainly attract customers.
