NIO has accomplished its 10,000th battery swap in Europe, six months after reaching 10 million in China.
According to NIO’s Norwegian app, the 10,000th battery swap was fulfilled in Lier, Norway, at 7:55 p.m. local time on February 21.
Bjarte, the user, will receive a commemorative certificate and a specially carved NIO Life bottle.

To commemorate this achievement, NIO in Europe is giving away an NIO Life bottle to all customers who have recently changed their batteries and donated to plant a tree on their behalf.
According to the NIO App, as of February 15, NIO has 11 battery swap centers in Europe, with another six openings soon.
The charging map of company has access to 388,000 third-party charging piles throughout Europe.

NIO’s battery swap stations
NIO’s trademark energy replenishment facility, battery swap stations, is still being deployed in Europe after proving popular in the Chinese market.
NIO announced on July 5, 2022, that it had achieved 10 million cumulative battery swap services. At the time, the company had 999 battery swap stations in China.
According to CnEVPost data, NIO has 1,313 battery swap stations in China, but they have yet to be added in the last month.
NIO had planned to build 400 battery swap stations in China by 2023, but William Li, the company’s founder, chairman, and CEO revealed yesterday that the goal had been increased to 1,000.

Around 400 of the 1,000 new stations will be near highway service areas or highway exits and entrances. The remaining 600 will be stationed in cities.
In Europe, NIO’s first battery swap station opened in Norway in January 2022.
NIO Power Europe Plant
NIO founded an NIO Power Europe Plant in Hungary to speed up its implementation of battery swap stations in Europe. Its first battery swap station rolled off the assembly line last September.
NIO is introducing its entire business model from China to Europe because its management believes that global consumers share a common desire for good things.
Last October, the company held the NIO Berlin launch event, bringing the ET7, EL7, and ET5 to four countries other than Norway, including Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden, signaling the start of NIO’s major expansion in Europe.
ET7 deliveries began in Europe in October 2022, EL7 deliveries started on January 31, and ET5 deliveries will begin at the end of March.
NIO initially only offered vehicle leasing in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden before announcing on November 21 last year that it started providing a purchase option and that shipments of cars purchased would start in 2023.
