Toyota-owned luxury brand Lexus now offers customers a substantial discount for its first-ever electric SUV just after a few months of launching the model in the US market earlier this year. According to the automaker, buyers of the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e can get a maximum discount of $10,000 in lease cash.

About the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e

The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e made its global debut last April as the automaker’s first-ever battery-electric SUV model.

The model shares Toyota’s e-TNGA platform with the bZ4X and Subaru Solterra. Despite that, Lexus assures customers that the SUV offers a different “innovative design, inside and out.”

Lexus also noted that the new RZ 450e signifies its first significant step in becoming a “BEV-centered brand.” It features a large 71.4 kWh battery, enabling a driving range of up to 220 miles.

The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e also has an electric output of 308 hp. Apart from that, it features a Direct4 AWD capability for more efficient weight distribution. In effect, the model gets enhanced acceleration, handling, and stability, offering a smooth ride,

As for the design and aesthetics, Lexus substituted its iconic spindle grille with a “Spindle Body.” It claims that this design will improve the SUV’s aerodynamics and proportions.

Inside, the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e has a minimalist and spacious layout. It features a smart 14-inch touchscreen display integrated with Lexus Interface and a 10-inch head-up screen. It also boasts an appealing panoramic sunroof and Mark Levinson premium surround audio.

Deliveries for the fully-electric 2023 Lexus RZ 450e will commence later this month from $59,650. In addition, the range-topping RZ 450e Luxury equipped with AWD comes in at $65,150. #Lexus #LexusRZ450e #LexusRZ #RZ450e #RZ #BEVs #EVs #CUVs #crossovers pic.twitter.com/rEohGb5w8s

Pricing-wise, the Premium AWD variant starts at $59,650. Meanwhile, the Luxury AWD variants have a base price of $65,150.

Fortunately, the Japanese brand has now launched new lease incentives for the electric SUV.

Discounts

Lexus’ discount for the new RZ model amounts to a maximum of $10,000 in lease cash until the end of July, per the bulletins sent to dealers on Thursday (via CarsDirect).

Notably, the lease incentives apply to both the Premium AWD and Luxury AWD variants. However, it is only limited to a few US states, including the following: AK, AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA, and WY.

The report further asserted that the Lexus RZ’s current best lease deal in Los Angeles is $599/month with an additional $4,999 at signing. These figures represent a $200 decrease from the prior prices.

Apart from these, the Japanese brand’s $7,500 lease incentive is still active for customers living in states excluded from the list above. However, reports suggest that Lexus was not exploiting the EV tax credit loophole completely. As EV-a2z previously reported, it enables automakers to offer a commercial tax credit on leases.

Lexus’ move to offer substantial discounts for its first electric SUV is unsurprising, given how Tesla’s Model Y currently dominates the global market.

That said, it would be interesting to see how this new electric SUV from Lexus would perform and compete with award-winning models from Tesla in the coming quarters.
