South Korean automaker Kia has teased another two new electric vehicle models before its upcoming EV Day event in its home market on October 12.

What’s currently known about the two EV concepts? What to expect from the event?

The teaser poster from the company showed some familiar models, including the EV6 GT at the left end, the EV5 at the center, and the EV9 at the right end.

Therefore, there are only two models left unidentified.

Accelerate the EV revolution.

What’s currently known about the two EV concepts?

InsideEVs reckons the second one figure from the right to be the new EV3 subcompact e-crossover due to its size and boxy design language similar to the EV9 behind it. It shows the model’s stacked LED headlights. Rumors claim it will have a base price of about $30,000 to $40,000. If it would really be the EV3, it will reportedly use Hyundai’s new Integrated Modular Architecture (IMA).

Meanwhile, the second model from the left side is more difficult to guess. It has more curved lines than the speculated EV3, EV5 and EV9. However, it seems to have a similar design language to the three e-SUV models. I also have a body built similar to the EV6 beside it.

However, it must be noted that there is still no guarantee that these two undisclosed models will be the concepts that will launch in the EV Day.

What to expect from the event?

Kia plans to tease its expanded electric vehicle portfolio at the inaugural EV Day. It will occur in Yeoju on October 12, 2023, signifying the beginning of an annual practice to introduce the brand’s new EV models, concepts, and technological advancements.

The highly-awaited event will showcase Kia’s full EV portfolio, which consists of the EV5, EV6 GT, and EV9. As mentioned, two more model concepts are expected to be revealed at the event.

Kia will also release the EV5’s more specific specifications after its debut at Chengdu Motor Show two months ago.

The company also stated that numerous significant keynote speakers will attend the EV Day to discuss certain matters relevant to Kia’s e-mobility shift, such as follows:

  • Comprehensive electrification strategy
  • “Opposites United” design philosophy,
  • Innovative customer experience (CX) strategy updates
  • New product insights

Kia set a target of selling 1.6 million electric vehicles by the end of this decade. To achieve that, it aims to launch 15 new EV models by 2027. Kia’s major transition since 2021 seems to be progressing now, considering its 14-month consecutive YoY sales growth in the US market last month.
