Kia is set to launch the sleek EV4, the latest in its affordable electric sedan lineup, in 2025. Even before that, the industry was able to get an early look at the upcoming low-cost Kia EV thanks to a recent spy video.

Leaked footage offers an early look at Kia’s upcoming entry-level EV

South Korean YouTube channel Healer TV published a spy video of a camouflaged Kia EV4 while it sits on an auto hauler.

The video content published on Wednesday revealed that the new Kia EV4 is a sleek entry-level electric sedan.

As you can observe, the Kia EV4 in the video looks very similar to the concept revealed in 2023.

Kia previously hinted that the new EV4 will be an “entirely new type of EV sedan,” signifying the brand’s innovation in electric vehicles.

The Kia EV4 featured in the spy video has unique character lines and a sleek silhouette. It also features a low nose and roof spoiler that perfectly complements its sporty appearance. Its headlights span to the edge of the hood, further improving its distinctive exterior design. It also has an open grille and sensors similar to the concept revealed last October.

The EV4’s side profile shows its sloping roofline, highlighting its sporty build. Meanwhile, its rear fascia looks similar to the Stinger, offering a performance car feel.

The new electric sedan will offer the brand’s next-gen ccNC infotainment with dual 12.3-inch screens, enabling a pleasing minimalistic design.

Kia gears up for wider EV adoption

In hindsight, Kia unveiled the EV4 concept at its inaugural annual EV day in October 2023.

It is one of the brand’s new offerings under the new affordable EV lineup, which targets the $30,000 to $50,000 price range.

The new lineup includes the EV3, EV4, and EV5. Kia already launched the EV5 compact electric SUV in November 2023. It has a base price of about $20,000 (149,800 yuan) in China.

It also hosted the global debut of the Kia EV3 in May 2024. Order books opened in South Korea just this week, with prices starting at $30,700 (KRW 42.08 million). With government incentives, they can further drop to $29,200 (KRW 39.85 million).

Kia expects this new affordable EV lineup to aid its efforts in contributing to the wider adoption of clean energy vehicles across the world. These new EVs will also play a crucial role in advancing its position to become a leader in the global market.

Indeed, the new Kia EV4 is another major advancement as the brand overhauls itself amid its electrification push. It is expected to hit the market in 2025 with a base price of approximately $35,000. It will compete with the likes of Hyundai IONIQ 6 and Tesla Model 3.
