During the 4xe Day in September, Stellantis unveiled several electric products, including its first Jeep EV, according to Motor1.
Recently, it was noted that Jeep would showcase its first all-electric Jeep Avenger at the 2022 Paris Motor Show. Now, it had its public debut at the Paris Motor Show this week.
The 2023 Avenger has a single motor that can produce 154 horsepower (115 kW) and 260 Newton meters (191 pound-feet) of torque. The e-motor draws it from a 54 kWh battery built in by the brand. It can deliver a targeted range of 400 km (249 miles). However, with city use, it should be able to reach up to 550 km (342 miles).
Additionally, the lithium-ion battery pack can be recharged from 20 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes using a 100-kW connection. It can also be recharged in 3 minutes and can run for 30 km (19 miles).
“The newly developed battery has been tested for over two million km (1.24 million miles) and is installed below the front and rear seats and the central tunnel. The new Avenger is only 4.08 meters (160.6) long, thus making it 16 centimeters (6.3 inches) shorter than the already diminutive Renegade,” says Jeep.
“It delivers a generous ground clearance of 200 millimeters (nearly eight inches) with a 20-degree approach and 32-degree departure angles.”
Additionally, the Jeep Avenger’s cargo volume reaches 380 liters (13.4 cubic feet) positioned behind the seats and is supplemented by 34 liters (1.2 cubic feet) of front storage. It’s the company’s first front-wheel-drive-based vehicle to have the Hill Descent Control and Selec-Terrain, with six driving modes: Eco, Mud, Normal, Sand, Snow, and Sport.
Notably, a dual-motor, an all-wheel-drive variant is also planned for the model.
It is placed below Renegade, among Jeep’s expanding lineup. The new 2023 Jeep Avenger will be manufactured at Stellantis’ Tychy Plant in Poland. Pre-orders opened on Monday until November 30 at the Old Continent, where the Launch Edition came.
The new model is also available for pre-orders in specific European markets ahead of its market launch, which will happen in early 2023.
The Head of Jeep Europe, Antonella Bruno, hopes the new Avenger will be the best-selling model by 2024 in Jeep’s portfolio. The company says it is the first in the ‘portfolio of capable, fully electric vehicles’ right-sized for Europe and confirmed another four launches of electric vehicles by 2025.
