Hyundai’s objective

Hyundai wants to establish a sustainable future in the auto industry. It aims to produce electric vehicles with an eco-friendly drivetrain with the IONIQ 5.

Apart from that, it has added a variety of sustainable and green components to the vehicle to make it greener and more sustainable.

Battery and powertrain information

Hyundai offers two different battery pack configurations for the IONIQ 5 worldwide: 58kWh and 72.6kWh. Both AWD and rear-wheel drive options are available for the two configurations.

The smaller battery generates 233 horsepower with all-wheel drive and 170 horsepower with rear-wheel drive.

On the other hand, the larger battery produces 305 hp in AWD mode and 217 hp in rear-wheel drive mode. It reportedly increases the range to 481km (WLTP cycle).

The IONIQ 5 enables ultra-rapid 800V charging, allowing a battery charge from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes.

However, which powertrain option makes it to India is still to be determined.

Features of the IONIQ 5

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 was created using various eco-friendly cabin materials, including bio paint, leather, fabric, and more.

Furthermore, the South Korean automaker’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GNP) is used to develop the popular electric SUV.

It is also worth noting that Hyundai’s trademark Parametric Pixel LED headlights will be used on the IONIQ 5. It also boasts a Hyundai Vision Roof that is entirely made of glass, lacks a central barrier, and makes the inside comfortable.

Apart from those, the new R20 alloy wheels carry the new design language and have an interesting symmetrical shape.

Other significant features include a dashboard magnet enabling customers to customize their driving experiences. Moreover, it offers a spacious, drawer-style glovebox as an enhanced convenience feature.

In order for customers to enjoy every minute of mobility, Hyundai aspires to go above and beyond the simple provision of transportation.
