Chevrolet initially announced that the Silverado EV could produce up to 664 horsepower when it was first introduced in January. It now appears that Chevrolet has updated the specifications of its upcoming Silverado electric pickup vehicle to match those of the GMC Sierra EV, as per InsideEVs.

Recent Silverado EV specs updates

Chevrolet has reportedly updated the power of the Silverado EV from the initial 664 hp to 754 hp. Additionally, its torque has been increased from 780 lb-ft to 785 lb-ft.

It is worth pointing out that when the GMC Sierra EV was unveiled, the Silverado EV’s power and torque specs were also adjusted. That said, the two trucks now have comparable specs.

Sean Szymkowski, the spokesman for Chevy truck communications, issued the following statement to media outlets:

“As we prepare for production of the Silverado EV, our engineering team has further refined the estimated performance specs for the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition. GM now estimates horsepower to be up to 754 and torque up to an estimated 785 lb-ft when Wide Open Watts mode is engaged.”

Chevrolet Silverado EV vs. GMC Sierra EV

As mentioned, the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the GMC Sierra EV have matching power and torque specs. These two trucks also promise up to 400 miles.

However, they have different max towing capacities. The Silverado EV can tow up to 10,000 pounds. The Sierra, on the other hand, pulls slightly less weight at 9,500 lbs.

As for the pricing, Silverado EV prices range from $39,900 to $105,000, depending on the trim. Meanwhile, the base-trim level of Sierra EV will cost roughly $50,000, whereas the top-trim Denali will cost around $108,695.

The performance-focused 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST has officially been rated at 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque. In addition, sales for the pickup truck will commence late next year. #Chevrolet #ChevroletSilveradoEV #ChevroletSilverado #SilveradoEV #Silverado #GM #BEVs #EVs pic.twitter.com/eVeL8NYDJh

The Silverado EV is expected to reach the market in the Summer of 2024. On the other hand, the GMC Sierra EV is scheduled to debut in early 2024.

It will not be surprising if more adjustments are made to the Silverado and Sierra EVs before they go on sale. Remember that there is still a year until the Silverado RST EV reaches reservation holders.
