China-owned automaker Chery has just opened pre-sales for its inaugural flagship model, the Fulwin A8 sedan, in its home market on December 24. According to Gasgoo, the pre-sale ranges from 130,000 to 150,000 RMB.
Notably, Fulwin A8 is also referred to as “Fengyun” A8 in China. It is apparently a plug-in hybrid sedan (PHEV) counterpart of the Arrizo 8.
Exterior design
The Fulwin A8’s exterior design observes the Arrizo 8 style, but it features the Chinese automaker’s new logo. It also has an updated grille shape, as per TechGoing.
As for the dimensions, it is 4780 mm long, 1843 mm wide, and 1487 mm tall. It also has a wheelbase of 2790 mm.
Its interior design integrates a dot matrix layout with silver details. It significantly carries Chery’s latest design layout with a 24.6″ dual screen, flat-bottomed steering wheel, and electronic gear lever.
Interior features
The Fulwin A8 features Qualcomm’s 8155 chip and Chery’s Lion5.0 smart cockpit to boost its infotainment system boot up to just 2 seconds. It also has a new HMI interactive format with an HD touchscreen and a streamlined menu layout for easy navigation.
In addition, it offers the following features:

Technical details
The Fulwin A8 will be the inaugural model of Chery’s Fulwin series, integrating its Kunpeng Super Performance Electric Hybrid C-DM technology.
The extensive Kunpeng C-DM technology powers the Fulwin A8 to enable seamless driving even in various settings with ultra-low fuel consumption.
It also uses the fifth-gen ACTECO 1.5TGDI highly efficient hybrid engine with a superior thermal efficiency of 44.5% and dual electric motors. The engine generates a maximum output of 115 kilowatts and 220 Nm torque, while the motor enables a 150 kW maximum output and 310 Nm torque.
The model apparently consumes 4.2L/ 100 km and 4.2L/ 100 km. In addition, the Fulwin A8 also has an extended CLTC-rated battery range of 127 km. Meanwhile, its WLTC-rated comprehensive range surpasses 1,400 km. It can also accelerate from 0-50km/h within 3 seconds and from 0-100km/h in 7 seconds.
It also features an L2+ smart driving assistance system to alleviate drivers’ weariness on long trips. It also has a series of active safety features, faster decision-making tech, and a 540° transparent chassis to reduce crash risks.
Chery expects to launch the Fulwin A8 on January 3, 2024. For now, interested customers can place a pre-order for the new Fulwin A8 from 130,000 yuan ($18,200) to 150,000 yuan ($21,000).
