An electric car battery’s lifespan is also a concern for some buyers. How far could it take them before the batteries need a replacement?
Generally, electric car batteries can last for several years and to maintain their performance over time.
“Most EV batteries can guarantee for eight years or 160,000km (100,000 miles).”

However, hot climates and other factors spur capacity loss. That said, car batteries situated in hotter climates may deplete faster.
Battery’s lifespan
Most batteries can expect to last between 10-20 years before needing to be replaced. Furthermore, National Grid has also said it could last between 15-20 years.
In the United States, the batteries in an electric vehicle sold have a warranty lasting for a minimum of 8 years or at an estimated 100,000 miles. For example, Kia offers a contract for ten years or 100,000 miles, whereas Hyundai provides lifetime coverage.
EVs sold in the US must pass the same safety testing and meet the standards those ICE vehicles have met.
