Governments worldwide have been promoting the shift to electric vehicles to achieve their respective net zero emissions targets.
In response, global automakers have been investing aggressively in EVs along with their relevant components, such as batteries.

Below are the top 10 EVs coming before 2030, per Top Speed:
1. Cadillac Celestiq (2025)
Cadillac will equip the Celestiq with a dual-motor electric powertrain for a 600-horsepower. It can also accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. Moreover, it boasts a range of 300 miles.
Cadillac also allows customers to customize their desired build for Celestiq to fit their preferences. The price will be well over $300,000 before options.
It is also worth noting that the Celestiq is a limited production model with a planned production rate of just 500 units annually.
Cadillac will launch the Celestiq model in 2025 to succeed the CT6, with production scheduled in 2024.
2. Chevrolet Blazer EV (2024)
Chevrolet Blazer EV will use the GM BEV3 skateboard platform. Its base trim 1LT will have a range of 247 miles, while the RS trim can manage up to 320 miles.
The performance model, Super Sport badge, boasts a horsepower of 557 and torque of 648 pound-feet. It accelerates 0-60 mph in under four seconds, with a 290-mile range.
Furthermore, this midsized e-SUV can apparently support charging rates of 190 kW, allowing its battery to replenish up to a 78-mile range in just 10 minutes.
Chevrolet plans to start producing the Blazer EV in 2023, with the first deliveries scheduled for 2024.
3. Tesla Cybertruck (2024)
Tesla’s Cybertruck will offer four configurations: single-motor, dual-motor, tri-motor, and quad-motor.
The single motor has the following specs:
- 250-mile range
- acceleration of 0-60 mph time of 6.5 seconds
- 110 mph top speed
- 3,500 pounds payload capacity
- towing limit of 7,500 pounds
Considering this is the base configuration, these figures will increase with every upgrade. For instance, below are the Quad-motor configuration’s specs:
- 620-mile range
- acceleration of 0-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds
- top speed of 150 mph
- towing capacity of 14,000 pounds
Tesla will start limited production for the Cybertruck in Q3 2023. However, it would not yet hit the market till the following year.
4. DeLorean Alpha5 (2024)
The Alpha5 is co-developed by DeLorean and ItalDesign, with design inspirations from the classic 1981 DeLorean.
It has a 0.23 Cd drag coefficient, allowing a minimum acceleration time of 0-60 mph of 2.99 seconds. With its 155 mph maximum speed, the EV can accelerate from 0-88 mph in 4.35 seconds. As for the range, it can go 300 miles on a single charge with its 100 kWh battery.
This 2-door ultra-luxury coupe has gullwing doors that dominate the car’s entire length, which is among the highlights of the EV.
Its base price costs $100,000s before options.
DeLorean Motor Company plans to begin Alpha5 production in 2024, with an overall production rate of 9,531 units.
5. Deus Vayanne (2025)
Deus Automobiles equipped the Deus Vayanne with an AWD tri-motor configuration and an 85 kWh battery, allowing for a 2,169 hp and 1,475 lb-ft torque. It can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 1.99 seconds with a 248 mph maximum speed. It boasts a range of 310 miles on a single charge.
As for its charging capacity, Deus Vayanne can charge from 10-80% in 10 minutes with an 800v charger at a 350kW rate.
Deus Automobiles will start producing the Deus Vayanne in 2025 with initial production of 99 units.
6. Mercedes-Benz EQG (2024)
Mercedes-Benz EQG is set to be the electric counterpart of the company’s legacy G-Class. Therefore, it will substantially take after the current G-Class exterior design.
The automaker equipped the model with a 107.8 kWh battery pack and four electric motors on each wheel.
The EQG 560 and 580 versions will both have 516 hp and 631 lb-ft torque. Unfortunately, Mercedes has not yet disclosed its energy efficiency and battery range details.
Mercedes-Benz will start producing the EQG model in 2024.
7. Polestar 5 (2024)
Polestar has not yet announced the exact specs of the upcoming Polestar 5 model. However, it is anticipated to have a dual-motor configuration, allowing for 884 horsepower. It will also have a 103 kWh battery pack for a range of up to 300 miles between charges.
Its charging capacity is up to 350 kW with an 800-volt charge architecture.
Inside, the 4-seater EV will feature captain’s chairs in both the front and back seats. It also offers a 12.5-inch screen inside the cockpit and a 15-inch infotainment screen.
Polestar plans to produce the new model next year.
8. Kia EV9 (2024)
Kia EV9 will use the same e-GMP platform as the Kia EV6. Kia will offer two battery pack configurations for this model, including the 76.1 kWh and the 99.8 kWh.
The EV9’s base RWD model will feature the smaller battery pack with 215 horsepower. Meanwhile, the EV9 RWD Long Range version will feature the 99.8 kWh battery pack with 201 horsepower and a 336-mile range between charges.
The EV9’s top trim AWD will also use the 99.8 kWh battery pack with two motors, allowing for 380 hp. It can accelerate from 0 to 6- mph in just 6 seconds,
Kia will start producing the EV9 in 2023, with customer deliveries planned in 2024.
9. Chevrolet Silverado EV (2024)
Chevrolet offers two trim levels for the Silverado EV: the Work Truck (WT) and the RST trim.
The Work Truck (WT) trim boasts 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft torque power. Meanwhile, the RST trim will have 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft torque.
Nonetheless, both trims will feature a 200 kWh battery pack with a 400-mile range. They will also be equipped with enormous front trunks for cargo purposes.
Chevrolet plans to start producing the 2024 Silverado model in late 2023.

10. Tesla Roadster (2023/2024)
Tesla initially announced that the Roadster could accelerate 0-60 mph in just 1.9 seconds. However, CEO Musk plans to equip the EV with ten small rocket cold air thrusters, ultimately lowering its acceleration time to just 1.1 seconds.
It will also have a maximum speed of 250 mph, placing it among the world’s fastest cars.
Tesla will equip the Roadster with a tri-motor in both the rear and one front axle. Its battery is 200 kWh, allowing for a range of 620 miles between charges.
