Tesla is reportedly preparing to launch the revamped Model 3, also known as “Highland,” this month, according to Chinese media. Moreover, it appears that the Musk-led company has already allowed Chinese dealerships to accept pre-orders for the new model variant for a ¥1000 ($AU214) deposit.
Tesla will apparently reveal the Highland in the “next fortnight,” IT Home reports citing China Securities Journal.
Tesla to begin Highland production at Giga Shanghai
The local content creator and Tesla fan @@ChrisZheng001 posted on X that the osGiga Shanghai started producing the Highland on Monday.
He further claimed that the automaker will hit a production output of 7,000 units this month. It will have another 10,000 Highlands by September.
However, some are concerned about the apparent production slowdown the following month.
What’s currently known about the Highland?
Tesla has yet to officially debut the highly awaited revamped Model 3. However, most key details of the EV have already been exposed publicly.
The new Tesla Model 3’s appearance will undergo a significant makeover. It will apparently have a narrower body and sharper LED headlights.
The interior of the car will also have multiple modifications, which will enable the company to cut costs in its production.
