Vietnamese electric automaker VinFast officially revealed its new electric pickup truck concept, “VF Wild,” at CES 2024 in Las Vegas on Tuesday, January 9.
According to the press release, the VF Wild concept signifies the brand’s first-ever shot for a pickup truck model development.
“We are very proud to introduce the VF Wild concept, which encapsulates our mission to make sustainable, high-quality electric vehicles accessible to a broader market. This is not just a new product in our offering – it showcases our aspiration to venture into the fast-paced and thriving electric pickup truck market.”
Ms. Tran Mai Hoa, Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing, VinFast Global
Exterior design
The VF Wild concept vehicle embodies VinFast’s goals to develop an electric pickup truck with industry-leading performance, attractive design, and sustainability.
It is 209 inches (5324mm) long and 79 inches (1997mm) wide, a qualified entry to the mid-size pickup segment.
It has a sleek appearance and a long bed that features a folding midgate to carry long loads. When the owner folds the bed wall, rear glass, and back seats, the VF Wild can easily carry longer loads without them protruding out of the bed.
Interior features
Inside, the VF Wild electric pickup truck concept features a mix of beige and gray. It has a generous amount of leather upholstery with contrast stitching.
It also has an attractive dashboard with a large touchscreen, a distinct center console, black piano trim pieces, and rear passenger screens.
VinFast to launch the VF 3
VinFast also plans to roll out the mini-sized VF 3 in the global market, Reuters reports.
It apparently aims to enable a driving range of over 125 miles between charges. The Vietnamese have not yet announced the official delivery timeline for the four-seater mini electric SUV beyond its home market. However, it noted that pre-orders will open as early as this year.
Meanwhile, the first customer deliveries in Vietnam will kick off in Q3 2024.
Moreover, VinFast has yet to announce the official specifications of the new VF Wild concept. However, it claims to offer a driving range of approximately 250 miles or 400 km. Considering its dimensions, the VF Wild Concept is likely to compete with the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, and others.
We can expect to learn more about the electric pickup truck concept and its development progress this year following its initial debut at CES 2024.
