Leading American automaker Tesla has just released the first-ever software update of the all-electric pickup Cybertruck with version 2024.2.3 just over two months after kicking off deliveries on November 30.
As per the online community Cybertruck Owners Club, the 2024.2.3 software update focused on the electric pickup’s handling and charging capability improvement and the addition of innovative features. Moreover, it included several fixes, particularly for the warning light font size issue that recently prompted a safety “recall” to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS).
Without further ado, here are the inclusions of the 2024.2.3 software update:
Ride and handling improvement
The latest 2024.2.3 software update for the Tesla Cybertruck featured significant improvements to its ride and handling capabilities. In effect, the Cybertruck can now drive more consistently on different road surfaces. It can also enable a higher level of comfort even on bumpy roadways in Sport Mode or when the owner activates the Custom Ride and Handling feature’s “Focused” mode.
In addition, the Off-Road Mode will also offer Cybertruck owners a less intense and more comfortable riding experience.
“Get a more consistent response on different road surfaces and greater comfort on rough winding pavement in Sport Mode or when Custom Ride & Handling is set to Focused. Also expect reduced pitch and body roll in Off-Road Mode.”

More efficient charging
Tesla also improved the Cybertruck’s charging efficiency by enabling the electric pickup to match the level of each DC charging station.
It will basically improve the vehicle’s battery preconditioning efficiency.
“Your vehicle now adjusts to the power level of each DC charging station. So battery preconditioning when you’re navigating to a charger, and then charging, can be more efficient.”

New features
Apart from the handling and charging capability improvement, the 2024.2.3 software update also included the following features to the Cybertruck:
- Custom Lock Sounds
- Reminder to Plug In At Home
- Apple Podcasts
- Automatic 911 Calls
- More Cameras in Live View
- Automatic Blind Spot Camera Red Shading
- Trip Planner for Mobile App, etc.
Interested Cybertruck owners and buyers can view the full release notes of the latest software in a post in the Cybertruck Owners Club online community. Despite these improvements, it may be better for Tesla to focus on introducing Autopilot features to the Cybertruck’s systems. Considering that many Cybertruck owners may already own other Tesla vehicles, they may find it hard to drive on highways without Autosteer.
